DVAs programmes are geared towards the attainment of sustainable community development through participatory bottom-up approaches, collaboration, cooperation, and affiliations with entities alike.

The activities are aimed to improving the living conditions of targeted groups thanks to increased access to water, better educational facilities, more income generating activities, provision of capacity building, enhanced awareness and knowledge of health and human rights, better networks support and facilitation of self help dynamics, establishment of spaces and activities for women and youth. Events on human right, GBV, HIV, Reproductive Health, Life skills

The primary beneficiaries are women, children and youth groups in rural areas of Kenya.

GENDER & WATER

Creation and support of women’s spaces and activities

Vocational trainings and income Generating Activities for women

Establishment of water supply systems for women groups

Capacity building and training programs addressing the needs of different women groups

Organization of awareness raising programs on women’s rights.

Health and Hygiene Promotion (including Sexual and Reproductive Health)

Psycho social support, prevention and response to Gender Based Violence

CHILDREN & YOUTH

Establishment and rehabilitation of educational facilities (kindergarten, primary schools, secondary schools), play areas and social halls

Health, Hygiene promotion and HIV/AIDS training of peer counselors

2003 – Rehabilitation of a social centre in Machakos
